Centrally located in Ottawa. Room design of 2-bedroom suite was ideal for us travelling with another couple. Nice to have a kitchen stocked with cutlery, plates, pots/pans, kettle, dishes, dish cloths, etc. In general, the room was clean except the floor along the base of the tub. Thank you for leaving at least one extra roll of toilet paper. The bedrooms had lots of counter top on the dressers for storage.
The 2-bedroom suite is set up for 4-6 people but the coffee maker in the room is a single-cup maker, and the refill is only for 1 cup. Would be nice to be have a larger coffee maker. Also, there didn't seem to be any luggage racks in the room for laying a suitcase off the floor. Staff did not tell us on check in that we would need a separate keyless entry to access pool and exercise rooms.
I have stayed at the Cartier Place regularly during the past three decades. The staff is always friendly and the accommodations clean and spacious. The Italian restaurant, which is part of the hotel, provides excellent breakfasts and first rate dishes in the evening. I no longer swim, but the pool and exercise room at the hotel are inviting. The hotel is on a quiet street and provides excellent parking.
I stay there regularly because I know of no other place that suits me so well.
The spacious rooms and clealiness
The staff attitude-not compassinate, rude
For those not hungry for luxury this is an ideal place to stay. Close to all landmarks and with plenty of inexpensive and high-quality restaurants just around the corner, huge rooms (all suites, which means two berdrooms, living room and the kitchenette) an perfect value for money. Plus, washers and dryers on every floor is a great thing in terms of saving money and time. Complimentary Mackintosh apples was something to remember (!). Staff was also very efficient and while nowhere seen, pop up in a right place at a right time. Swimming pool and whirlpool are decent, the gym is too small but passable for a short stay (plus, a big gyme right next door).
We stayed at the Cartier Place Hotel before and came back again. We were in town for a 1/2 marathon and it was very conveniently located. I indicated "budget-friendly" because of the kitchenette; we saved a lot of money by using it instead of eating out. It was like a home away from home.
Conveniently located, clean, spacious and kitchenette was well-equipped.
Well situated within walking distance of Parliament Hill etc. Comfortable accomodation, adequate cooking facilities, swimming pool well maintained.
two bedrooms good idea
paying for parking
Excellent location...near Elgin Street and close to downtown.
Beds are a tad tired.......with a wee facelift this could be an awesome hotel!
The pool is nice; we can do laps!
The receptionnist told me that by booking my room with Booked.net it did not guarantee a non smoking room! I had to convince her to change my room...The hotel needs new decoration! The noise was unbelievable in my room! The pool isn't very clean...the whirlpool isn't working properly...
It has ensuite kitchen, dining, living and "office" space. Perfect for business and pleasure. Close to downtown and in a friendly neighbourhood (not in the financial or government districts). Nice balcony, pool and workouit facilities. It has a restaurant and bar - although I didn't use it. Nice mix of hotel guests and seniors.
It was a little dated; elevators smaller and not as modern.
Full kitchen facilities Comfortable bed Good quality sofa bed
Bring your own pillows!
The ability to relax in the room. The location was also great. The Centretown area is hip and alive and I felt like I was staying at an apartment, not a hotel room.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool and spa turned out to be a wonderful part of our stay for exercise and relaxation. We were a bit unhappy with the darkness and short service of the restaurant, the food was OK but could be better.
We had the misfortune of being roomed next to a group of very obnoxious young men that partied until 3:30 in the morning, they were extremely noisy. We did not call the desk until about 3:00 which was our error. We lost a nights sleep which was unfortunate.
Great hotel, great value, great location!
Parking is a bit tight, but not a big deal.
It was an easy walk to Parliament Hill, Bytown Market, the Museum of Nature ect...
The parking was much too expensive at over $20 a day
